Banner Blog Hop

I am so excited to be apart of the Banner Blog Hop...
Everyone in the hop has created a banner for either
Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years.
This is the first banner that I ever made with my Cricut.
I love how it turned out...
I love Thanksgiving! I love that my family is able to gather together around the dinner table and that we are able to have a real big traditional Turkey Dinner. This is a real feat because part of my kitchen and my dining room is my crafting area.  So you can imagine what I have to go through to get everything cleaned up and organized for the holiday.

So my banner spells out FAMILY...

The acorns were cut from the Doodlecharms cart at 7".  The base of the acorn is chipboard and I also used two tones of rustic brown card stock. I alternated the colors top and bottom on each acorn. I embossed the top part of the acorns with the "Spots and Dots" Cuttlebug embossing folder, for a little texture.
The leaves where cut from the Doodlecharms cart at 2 1/2". The letters and Shadows were cut from Plantin School Book, they were cut at 4".
All this was glue down using my Sticker Maker by Xyron.

I added buttons on top of the leaves to accent the acorns.
Are they not the cutest acorns you ever did see?

Okay now for the some fun! I am giving away a...

Xyron Pink

Beautiful banner....Well our family tradition is called Thankmas.... My son and stepson go to their other parents for Christmas so we do Christmas with the kids on Thanksgiving morning... It is soooo fun and the kids named our special day "Thanksmas"...We decorate our house the day after Halloween and put the tree up...

Our tradtion is every year we have all the family together and they each bring their "speciality" side dish...yummy can't wait for the feast!!

Beautiful Banner, love the acorns. My favorite tradition came from my greadfather. Eventhough they might eat at another family member or friends house for Thanksgiving he still wanted a Thanksgiving dinner from his wife. So I still make my husband the sides for Thanksgiving. Since it is just the two of us I may not make a whole turkey. I may do a turkey loaf, wings or legs.

Love the acorns. I want Doodlecharms.

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition of mine growing up was that we would each have a small candle, usually holiday themed/shaped like a turkey or pilgrim and after we ate and before we'd clear and clean we'd light our candles and we would stay around the dinner table and talk and share what we are thankful for until all our candles were burned out. Sometimes it was only 15min or less but sometimes one of us would get that one candle that just wouldn't die and we were FORCED to spend time together.

What an adorable banner! Thanks so much for sharing! We don't have many traditions for Thanksgiving...it rotates houses and you never know who will show up--but I always get out the Advent Wreath and calendar to get ready, since Advent follows Thanksgiving so closely...putting it together and lighting the first candle is so special to all of us. ksjennings(at)gmail(dot)com

Love the acorns. What a great banner. My favorite tradition is decorating the tree with my kids. They are grown now but at least one if not all will be here to help me put the tree up. I still use all the handmade decorations the kids made growing up. We have such wonderful memories.

Love your banner. I am so inspired from this blog hop. Hope to get to making my own banners for the upcoming holidays soon. My craft area is also my dining room table so I understand completely what you have to go through to get ready for Thanksgiving. I go through the same thing for Christmas Eve's with my husband's family.

I love the acorns on your banner. The Doodle Charms cartridge is on my wish list. I love the turkey dinner and wish that I could always spend it with my family, however we are all spread out so that doesn't happen. TFS Susan

I LOVE that you've used Acorns for your backdrop! That is SUCH a cute idea! I also really love that you've textured the top of the acorns!

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is that we always go around the table and each say something we're thankful for. I remember thinking it was so dumb when I was a kid; I think that's WHY it's my favorite tradition now.

I want to make a banner like this. I don't have the acorn, but I want to say FAMILY. I'll think of something for the base!

Thanksgiving tradition-oh no problem here knowing what it is...watching Dad carve the big bird! He gives me the end which is the first cut.

What a cute and creative banner!! I love how you used the acorns as the base! CUTE!!

Our Thanksgiving tradition is to be together as a family and to all sit down together to eat. It used to be at my mom's house, and she was the BEST host!! Ever since my accident, though, my aunt took over. It's still nice, but it's just not the same, you know what I mean? Anyway, the important part is that we're all together!!

Thanks so much!

Your banner is so full of family I love it! My mother-in-law has saved one Thanksgiving art project from each of her grandchildren (two of whom are my boys) from when they were small children. She sets them out every year. The boys love seeing their things from when they were little and mine are 21 and 13. It's very sweet.
