Love the place cards---they are so cheerful looking. When my children were young, I always planned some kind of project -- one time it was painting on t-shirts---not a good idea-it was pretty messy but the kids loved it.

Those are so cute!!! I would recommend having lots of activity prepared, even if you know that you don't have time for all of them. You never know, the kids might not like some of them!

Awesome name plates!

Tip: When you're having a dinner party, bring out the dishes that your food will be served in the night before and put a sticky note with what dish will be going in what. Then people wont be asking "what dish will the corn be in?" when they're helping. So simple (works really well for big dinners, i.e. Christmas)

I'm a new follower. My party tip would be to have your camera/s available to all guests to take a snap so you don't miss anything. It's always interesting to see each guests perspective as well.

I'm going to lift your idea. I use a lot of place cards.

Julie said...

That candle is so cute and it's the perfect accent on your placecards! My pary tip is more of an idea. I like to do wish jars. I did this at a high school graduation party last year. We had the guests write down their wishes for the graduate and then sealed them in a jar for her to "reopen" after her college graduation.

These are adorable! My Aunt shared a party tip with me years ago... she said you run around cleaning everything but the only person who sees that is the first guest to arrive. The rest focus on each other and the party itself. Don't stress about cleaning under the microwave - no one sees it!!!

I still stress about it but that is always in the back of my mind.

Thanks!

Melissa Bell said...

Wow those are really cute. I just helped make some place cards for my friends 30th birthday and I can't wait to share them. I guess my best party tip is don't forget to have fun. Sometimes you lose focus on the party itself when you are worried about making it perfect :)

My favorite party tip is instead of giving candy as favors I try to find something theme (or color )oriented that is useful such as hair ties, barrettes, bows,cars...since so many kids have allergies these days and they love it. Also love putting it in a small purse from the $1.00 store another gift that is reusable.

Party tip: never serve Hawaiian punch if you have carpet. LOL!

These place cards are so stinkin' cute! I love how the candle was cut bigger than the card and comes over the top! Nice touch!

My party tip is to always make more food than you think you'll need! Running out is never good and leftovers are a blessing! :)

Favorite party tip...well...I actually have a wedding tip. Does that count as a party? LOL. I tell this to all the brides to be I meet. Pencil in lightly little numbers on the back bottom corner of the RSVP cards and keep track in a spread sheet of which number was sent to which person. This is easy if you use excel to oragnize addresses and RSVPs. That way, when one comes back with no name or a name you can't read (It happened to us!) then you know exactly who sent it. :)

Instead of spending $200 at "Chucky Chesse's" I had my grandson's party at "Chic Fil A"
it was wonderful..... the children played and ate... I was soooo glad it all turned out so good. It was his first party and I said for a one year old, I have never seen such a cool and amazing party.
I always enjoy reading your blog, it is always inspiring. Thank you

p.s. McDonald's no longer host parties, so chic fil a was the only one who allowed us.
