Hello, My Queen.

Unfortunately, I know too many people who are fighting breast cancer. Two of my friends, Linda and Marjie, are in active treatment. Linda just discovered her cancer in August and is in Day #25 of Chemo today. Marjie is a very young woman who suffered leukemia in her teens and now, breast cancer. She is having what she hopes will be her final surgery in less than 4 weeks, to remove her expander so reconstructive surgery can take place. Please pray for them. You can see more about them on my blog today, where I am participating in another Breast Cancer Awareness hop today: http://cardmonkey-business.blogspot.com.

The good news is that my sister is a 4-year survivor; she actually underwent genomic testing of her DNA to see what treatments would be most effective. She learned that chemo would kill her due to a certain DNA alignment our family has. My aunt (my mother's sister) wasn't so lucky -- breast cancer inevitably killed her after it metastasized to her bones and brain.

Your little pencil holder is adorable ... as is your beautiful card!!! Love that paper! And of course, the Karber digi.

Fondly,
Ellen ♥ CardMonkey

Such a cute card. I have a family history with breast cancer. My sister (who is a cousin who was raised with me because her mother died of breast cancer when she was 3) My mother is a survivor and now my sisters' mother in law is loosing her battle with breast cancer that has spread to her lymph-nodes. Sad how this disease still takes people away from us.

My mother was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer 11 months ago. She is a survivor! Thanks for the chance to win and even more for helping educate others on the importance of self examination and regular screenings. New statistics for 2011 - 1 in 8 women will have some type of aggressive breast cancer in their lifetime. 1 in 4 if you have a first degree relative (mom, sister). I am being proactive!

This is the cutest card. I just love it! Going over to see if I can get that adorable image. I don't know anyone currently fighting it thank goodness, but my mom fought twice and survived, as did her mother and my SIL's mom sadly died from it. :( Horrible disease. Great cause. TFS and for the chance to win!

Be sure to stop by my blog to enter my 500 followers giveaway and stop by my blog for current hops I'm in and a chance to win even more blog candy!
